Introducing "The Princess Maid"

Hello, friends, and welcome to the fanfic section of my Substack. It’s a full-length novel, and I’ve been working on it for over three years now. Fanfic, for those who don’t know, is fiction based on a pre-existing work. In my case, it’s the TV series “Once Upon a Time,” which is a Disney production that features all the famous characters you know: Snow White, the Evil Queen, Beauty and the Beast, etc. They’ve all been brought to the 21st century by the Evil Queen’s curse, and the show alternates between the present-day plot and flashbacks of Fairy Land. My novel stays almost exclusively in Fairy Land, and it focuses on Beauty and the Beast. I stick with the TV show’s variations, which means that Belle is a princess, and the Beast is Rumpelstiltskin.

Assuming that most of you haven’t seen the show, I’ve embedded video clips within my chapters, just as I did with the trailer above. That should help catch you up with the backstory. I’m also adding Author’s Notes between the chapters that need them. If anything is unclear, please let me know. That’s how I improve the story. Thanks for reading!
