Hi, everyone. I don’t know if all of you have had a chance to read my most recent post, but since writing it, I’ve seen Rov Osher Weiss’ original video telling the story, so I must correct what I got wrong.
Tragically, the young man didn’t lose his non-dominant arm. He lost his right hand. So now he has a full left arm, and his right arm ends at his elbow. His question was that since he’s having to learn to do everything with his left hand, is that now his dominant arm, or is it still the right? The answer determines on which arm he’ll wrap his tefillin.
Rabbi Weiss doesn’t give the answer, but I pray that this young man and every other wounded soldier receives robotic prostheses. Jews across the world, as well as our supporters and allies, should donate toward that.
So, if you haven’t already, please make a donation to Friends of the IDF. They sacrificed nearly everything for klal Yisroel. We owe them for the rest of their lives.
